Dedicated Representation in Intoxicated Driving Cases

In certain intoxicated driving cases, one of the penalties a court may impose is mandatory installment of an ignition interlock device. This device is similar to a Breathalyzer and will not allow a vehicle to be started if the driver has a certain blood alcohol concentration (BAC). As a Westfield ignition interlock device attorney, Kenneth N. Lipstein will work tirelessly to help you avoid this and other harsh punishments that may come with a DWI or DUI conviction.

If you have been accused of driving under the influence, you need legal representation right away. Contact our New Jersey intoxicated driving defense lawyer online or call 908-232-7880 to schedule a free consultation to discuss your case.

When Are Ignition Interlock Devices Required?

Under current New Jersey law, if a person has a BAC of .15 percent or higher on a first DWI offense, the court will order the installation of an ignition interlock device for six months to one year. For repeat offenders, the court will order the installation of a device for one to three years. You will not be allowed to drive any other vehicle during this time. You will also be required to pay for the installation of the device and a monthly leasing fee. This is in addition to any other DWI penalties.

Experience You Can Rely On

With the expense and inconvenience that come with these types of devices, it is important to hire an experienced attorney. Kenneth N. Lipstein has more than 30 years of experience as a litigator. He has worked as a prosecutor and understands cases from all angles. When you come to our Westfield DWI defense law firm, you will get thorough, experienced assistance from a lawyer who is dedicated to protecting your rights.
